New Khutbahs!

This past weekend, we marked the beginning of a new Islamic year. With the start of this year, we are launching an effort to keep our website updated with new material. So in the coming weeks, several khutbahs and lectures will be added to the Audio and Videos pages of our website. Some will fill in gaps from the past few months and years; others will be completely fresh-and-new.

For subscribers to our YouTube channel (SabiqunDC), there will be new videos added there as well (which will coincide with what is added to our website). Subscribe if you haven't already!

We're sure many of you have been waiting for this. Stay tuned...

This week, five khutbahs have been added:

New Audio

New Videos (These are not on our website yet but can still be viewed online.)
  • CIA Pattern of Deception (May 14, 2004) - This khutbah was delivered in Washington, DC, on May 14, 2004. In this well-known "classic", Imam Musa examines the control of democracy; the psychological and political management of people; and, of course, the CIA's use of sinister and deceptive methods in order to achieve preconceived agendas.
  • World Class Movement (Dec. 4, 2009) - Imam Musa elaborates on the high aspirations of the As-Sabiqun movement as agents of change in a society and in a world that needs new direction. In striving for these high aspirations, he lays down some key Qur'anic principles. He also offers helpful insight regarding how to thrive in spite of a hostile environment.

Also, if you're in the DC-MD-VA area, don't forget to come by and support the family of Imam Luqman at our fundraiser tomorrow (for more info, click here)!

Dec. 25 (Next Week) - Fundraising Jumu'ah for Imam Luqman's Family

In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

As-Sabiqun & Masjid Al-Islam (DC) presents…

A Fundraising Jumu'ah & Dinner
for the Family of
IMAM LUQMAN

“O ye who believe! If a wicked person comes to you with any news, ascertain the truth, lest ye harm people unwittingly and afterwards become full of repentance for what ye have done.” (al Hujurat, 49:6)

There is a psychological war being waged against the global Ummah. Domestically, the FBI intimidates us. On the international front, the CIA continues to kill our leaders overseas and impose/perpetuate puppet regimes (i.e. Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, to name a few). In this war, the most deadly Western institutions are its media, its think tanks, and its departments and institutes for strategic studies; in a calculated fashion, all cooperate to misinform, mis-educate, and implement image and perception management techniques to justify their enslavement, invasion, and general oppression of Muslims.

We of the As-Sabiqun movement will continue to challenge Zionist American domination of Islamic affairs locally and worldwide.

It is related by 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah (saw) said, "Every Muslim is a Muslim's brother. He should neither harm him himself nor leave him alone when others treat him unjustly, (but try to help him). Whoever will fulfill the need of a brother, Allah will fulfill his need; and whoever will remove the distress of a Muslim, he will find a distress of his removed on the Day of Requital; and whoever will hide the shame of a Muslim, his sins will be hidden on the Last Day." (Muslim)

We are holding a fundraising Jumu’ah and dinner in honor of Imam Luqman Ameen Abdullah. All proceeds will go to his widow and children, insha’Allah.

If you are too uncomfortable or afraid to attend this event in person but would like to support the cause, please purchase a money order and send it to: Masjid Al-Islam Imam Luqman Fund / 4603 Benning Road SE / Washington, DC 20019.

The Holy Prophet (saw) is reported to have said: “When you see an evil, you must change it with your hand. If you cannot do so, then change it with your tongue. If you cannot do this, then (detest it) with your heart,
and that is the weakest degree of faith.”

We do not have a military option (“change it with your hand”). Therefore, we shall use our voice in defense of Islam, Muslims, and justice. We will continue to fight this psychological war, even if it is all alone.

Imam Abdul Alim Musa
Masjid Al-Islam

P.S.
Since the martyrdom of Imam Luqman, we have raised only $1,000. We can do better than that. Allah (swt) has given the Muslims an opportunity to rescue America and the world from Zionist American domination. The Zionists are aiming to take civil liberties away from the Muslims first and everyone else next. If you want to be a good Muslim/American, then demand truth and fair dealing from your criminal government!

In My Own Words: Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf

Br. Mahmoud told us that this interview (link below) was one of the few instances where a journalist kept his/her word by not over-editing; he even gave the reporter, Drew Goodman, a rare "thank you" call after watching it.

In My Own Words: Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf

There's a total of 4 videos here; if you wait through the 10-second countdown after each, the subsequent video will begin. In case the first part doesn't come on automatically, click on the image at the bottom labeled "IMOW: Abdul-Rauf won't stand". Here's the overall order:

IMOW: Abdul-Rauf won't stand
IMOW: Abdul-Rauf on 9/11
IMOW: Abdul-Rauf can't be stopped
IMOW: Abdul-Rauf on today's NBA

Not sure how long the link will be around, so watch it now! Thanks for the tip, br. Mujaahid!
