Two Heroes, Two Classics, & Some Updates

Two Heroes

Recently, while going through some spring-cleaning, this historic photo surfaced. It was taken during Pres. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's 2007 visit to the UN headquarters in New York. Br. Yusuf from Boston also dug up a short YouTube video in which the President and Imam Musa pose together for a photo:

Two Classics

If you haven't seen these, well... watch 'em now:

Some Updates

  • We're back on Facebook! Spread the word!
  • For those who didn't read our October post, Blak Madeen, a Muslim hip hop team from Boston which has consistently shown us support, came out with a new album--Sacred Defense--last November. If you don't already have a copy, click here to buy one. A video for one of the tracks ("Engage the Enemy") can now be viewed here on their MySpace page. Thanks for all the support, brothers!
  • Finally, please be patient while we go through some website changes. In the coming days and weeks, we will be transferring website management tasks from a professional (but overly busy) webmaster to "one of us". Bear with us as we learn the ropes... insha'Allah, in the long run, this should significantly improve our web presence.

In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

As-Sabiqun, Masjid Al-Islam (Oakland), & the new Islamic Institute for Counter Zionist American Psychological Warfare) present…

A Fundraising Luncheon
for the Family of

IMAM LUQMAN

“O ye who believe! If a wicked person comes to you with any news, ascertain the truth, lest ye harm people unwittingly and afterwards become full of repentance for what ye have done.”

(al Hujurat, 49:6)

There is a psychological war being waged against the global Ummah. Domestically, the FBI intimidates us. On the international front, the CIA continues to kill our leaders overseas and impose/perpetuate puppet regimes (i.e. Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, to name a few). In this war, the most deadly Western institutions are its media, its think tanks, and its departments and institutes for strategic studies; in a calculated fashion, all cooperate to misinform, mis-educate, and implement image and perception management techniques to justify their enslavement, invasion, and general oppression of Muslims.

We of the As-Sabiqun movement will continue to challenge Zionist American domination of Islamic affairs locally and worldwide.

It is related by 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah (saw) said, "Every Muslim is a Muslim's brother. He should neither harm him himself nor leave him alone when others treat him unjustly, (but try to help him). Whoever will fulfill the need of a brother, Allah will fulfill his need; and whoever will remove the distress of a Muslim, he will find a distress of his removed on the Day of Requital; and whoever will hide the shame of a Muslim, his sins will be hidden on the Last Day." (Muslim)

We are holding a fundraising luncheon in honor of Imam Luqman Ameen Abdullah. All proceeds will go to his widow and children, insha’Allah.

If you are too uncomfortable or afraid to attend this event in person but would like to support the cause, please purchase a money order and send it to: Masjid Al-Islam Imam Luqman Fund / 8210 MacArthur Blvd. / Oakland, CA 94605. For those who will attend, join us in also celebrating our newly opened center of strategic planning and work in Washington, DC: the Islamic Institute for Counter Zionist American Psychological Warfare!

The Holy Prophet (saw) is reported to have said: “When you see an evil, you must change it with your hand. If you cannot do so, then change it with your tongue. If you cannot do this, then (detest it) with your heart, and that is the weakest degree of faith.”

We do not have a military option (“change it with your hand”). Therefore, we shall use our voice in defense of Islam, Muslims, and justice. We will continue to fight this psychological war, even if it is all alone.

Imam Abdul Alim Musa
Masjid Al-Islam

P.S. Since the martyrdom of Imam Luqman, we have raised $3,000. We can do better than that. Allah (swt) has given the Muslims an opportunity to rescue America and the world from Zionist American domination. The Zionists are aiming to take civil liberties away from the Muslims first and everyone else next. If you want to be a good Muslim/American, then demand truth and fair dealing from your criminal government!

“O ye who believe! Seek help with patient Perseverance and Prayer: for Allah is with those who patiently persevere. And say not of those who are slain in the way of Allah: ‘They are dead.’ Nay, they are living, though ye perceive (it) not. Be sure We shall test you with something of fear and hunger, some loss in goods or lives or the fruits (of your toil), but give glad tidings to those who patiently persevere—who say, when afflicted with calamity: ‘To Allah we belong, and to Him is our return’—They are those on whom (descend) blessings from their Lord, and Mercy, and they are the ones that receive guidance.” (al Baqarah, 2:153-157)

“Say: ‘Nothing will happen to us except what Allah has decreed for us: He is our Protector’: And on Allah let the Believers put their trust. Say: ‘Can you expect for us (any fate) other than one of two glorious things—(martyrdom or victory)?...” (al Tawbah, 9:51-52)

The Prophet of Allah (saw) is reported to have said: “He who equips a warrior in the way of Allah (is like one who actually) fights and he who looks after the family of a warrior in the way of Allah in fact participated in the battle.” (Muslim)

The Messenger of Allah (saw) said: “Who sought martyrdom with sincerity will be ranked by Allah among the martyrs even if he died on his bed.” (Muslim)

The Messenger of Allah (saw) said: “One who died but did not fight in the way of Allah, nor did he express any desire (or determination) for Jihad, died the death of a hypocrite.” (Muslim)

If we didn’t try a little to support our brothers and their families, then we should certainly be regarded as munafiqs (hypocrites). We feel sorry for the little that we can do. We were not Muslims following the Sunnah during Malcolm’s time, but now, we understand our duty to our martyrs and our leaders who’ve been unjustly jailed and isolated. On February 21, 2010—the 45th anniversary of the martyrdom of Malcolm X—help us help them and their families! For those who love and understand the importance of this cause, but will not be able to attend, please send your contribution to: Masjid Al-Islam / 4603 Benning Road SE / Washington, DC 20019. Your donation is tax-deductible. Our Tax ID number is: 94-3062482.

P.S. For those who will be attending, join us in also celebrating our newly opened center of strategic planning and work in Washington, DC: the Islamic Institute for Counter Zionist American Psychological Warfare!

* Dinner will be served. *

Imam Musa, Kamal Nawash, & the Obama Budget

Yep, you heard right--in the latest edition of Press TV's "American Dream," Imam Musa sits at the roundtable with none other than Kamal Nawash to discuss Obama's $3.8 trillion budget. Described by some as a "favorite Muslim" of Islam-haters (Daniel Pipes calls him "brave" and "creative"), and by others as a "self-loathing Muslim", Nawash gained notoriety a few years ago as the odd personality behind the unpopular "March Against Terror" held in DC, which voiced support for U.S.-sponsored "freedom and democracy in the Middle East and Muslim world". That being said, this roundtable discussion proves to be an interesting interplay, and of course Imam Musa represents as usual.

Note: The portion with Imam Musa and Nawash is the second half (the first half has another set of guests). To get straight to the second half, simply drag the bar to the middle point.

Oakland Event Cancelled

Here in DC, we've been immobilized by a BIG snowstorm (it goes on record as one of the biggest in local history). Insha'Allah, the program in Oakland will be rescheduled for sometime before the end of this month. Stay tuned...
